The fact that it mentions an avr, and I don't have one implies I need one.
I believe you can get generic units from China - is that the thing to do?
Most cheap generators produce a rubbish sine, with poor regulation. I'm guessing the avr won't do anything to improve the waveform, but should I expect better regulation with an external avr than with a standard cheap generator? If not, what are they for?
Background - someone gave me the unit in the photo a few years ago. I have a Lister CS engine that I thought I should stick it on as a back up generator. The Lister is only 6hp, so I'm only expecting to get about 3kw of electricity, if I'm lucky.
