I wish i could get a good un for a reasonable price ie: £25 But i often see them reach a ton or thereabouts on fleabay.

I wouldn't be without mine, but as Zardoz said they can be pricey. I took mine in part payment for a job. It needed a bit of fettling but is fine for what I need.
Be warned though, they are always in the way when you don't need them, and are too heavy to keep moving into the corner.
From the photo, that one looks like it may be fairly well worn. It should be flat lengthways, but have a slight crown widthways.

Depends on lots of things - size, condition etc.
Price increases with weight and dimensions. Its hard to tell the size / weight from a photo, but that one looks a reasonable size, which is good.
Regarding condition, if you're using it forge stuff you need to look at the edges / corners / holes / wear on the horn etc. Its petty much what you'd expect. If its just for bashing things on occasionally, then this all matters less. There is the whole 'dead' vs 'good ring' thing, but again if you're not forging, forget it.

I got a 1cwt anvil from Adtrader for £20, I had to go 60 miles to fetch it but it was a nice ride out.

Nice work on the anvil! I have a whole collection of bits of rail, RSJ, angle etc that I use, Ive ground them down in places to get the right shape, but I've never thought of welding some of it together to make a proper job of it!
What are the two dollies for? Each shape for a specific job? Did you make them yourself? How?
Also... I have a single tooth off some kind of digger... nice and rounded, about 20*10*10cm. Makes a decent "horn" for some jobs since I dont have an anvil.

I have a piece of railway track, around 12" long, found it on a car-boot for a few pounds. Apparently new rail track is some crazy price, I was told £600 per metre!
I have an idea to weld a couple of bolts onto one end and then I can clamp a tow-ball on it and get some rounded bits hammered.
I also fancy making some sort of support that I can slide the rail into with either side up...so I could have the slight curve of the top uppermost, or the flat bottom uppermost, as required. I haven't quite worked it out in my mind yet but ideally I'd like to get hold of a fishplate...

The dollies are just 2 of a collection, they are both bought items, the one on the left is called a thick curved dolly, just a cheap one, the one on the right is a heavy or thick toe dolly, genuine Sykes pickavant, anyone tin bashing should have one of these, and a few decent planishing hammers,

I would stay away from the machinemart one, or any newer "cast iron" anvils. Cast iron, as many of you know is brittle and prone to breaking. Probably ok for very occasional use, but not really what you want if you're doing any heavy hammering.
The £95 for the old anvil is probably fair value, but check the plate on top is not cracking away, or for any signs of previous repair. Might clean up nicely.

Here's a bit on a railway track anvil if you have the facilities or patience. one-rod's anvil.
How worn is worn? and how the hell did he end up with 40 of em 
some pictures would be nice if you can swing it, I'm looking for a smallish anvil to take to shows that will be a bit easier on the back than my 2cwt main anvil, so if there is a 1cwt or lighter in the collection please let me know. Now leg vices they are worth having if you can get one ...or two
