Aluminium Hemispheres

Does anyone know of a UK company that can supply something similar? Looking for 100mm D aluminium or even polished stainless hemispheres, I have searched a lot but cant find anything, I know these places might not have great websites so maybe someone knows first hand.

I remember @Cheesie had a thread and either found or made something similar?

They could be spun on a lathe.

The cheap, often free disposable alu gas bottles have a partial hemisphere with the threaded boss in the middle, roughly 70mm dia.

if ali then 2mm thickness, Need around 18 I think, its for a prototype furniture piece.

Yeah I can buy them form China in that link but just wondered if there was somewhere in the UK that might have them. Will check some metal spinners but Im sure the cost wont be comparable to the China ones but you never know.

Yeah A bit thin I think, needs to be welded to 2mm 100m tube as an end cap that supports the weight of a human!

I was going to suggest these-

Dome End Cap

Stainless Steel dome end caps in grade 316. Available in sizes from 1" up to 154mm.

More of a dome than a hemi, but they're 2mm thick, 4" od which suits stainless 4" pipe, but weld makes it easy to polish out.

First type are splash bowls i had spun, a spinner can do what you want but you will pary for the mould, the second type is for domed caps i put on my round tanks, i cut these on a circle cutter then press, both are from 1.5 aluminium both can be done in 2mm

If you are handy on a lathe a dome type pressed cap might be achievable but the more you shrink the material over the punch the more difficult it is for a nice end product
