Hi!
I an new to the forum, I joined because here seems to be much knowledge on welding and welders.
I am looking for a AC/DC TIG (~200A) machine for my hobby fabrication projects etc.
In my previous jobs I have had access to AC/DC TIG machines and I have used them a bit and I am probably a decent beginner.
However now I work in an engineering office and don't have access to any TIG-welder, so I want to buy one for my own hobby workshop. My price range is approx. 600-900 EUR.
Initially I looked at buying a "Stahlwerk AC/DC TIG 200 Pulse with Plasma Cutter S" (TIG and Plasma combo) for 890 EUR, but then I read that there is more problems with combination machines. So I decided it is probably better to buy a separate plasma cutter.
I also read that the Stahlwerk don't have down-slope in 2T-mode, which is bad because when welding in strange positions (when pedal can't be used) it is good to be able to regulate the welding current by pulsing the trigger and work with the down/up-slope.
The good thing about Stahlwerk is that they offer a 5 year warranty which is good. However the return shipping would be costly for me since I live in Sweden.
Now I am instead thinking about purchasing one of the following machines. They all seem to be the same but with different branding. They are probably all produced by Aland welding (Beijing, China) http://www.alandwelding.com/product_d.php?class=4&fclass=1&id=107
These have some more features, like: 4 different waveforms, Setting memory, and UP/DOWN slope should work in 2T-mode.
Does any one here have any experience with any of these machines or the dealers?
What do you think, is it a good welder?
Which dealer would you buy from?
If I buy it from a German dealer I should get 2 years warranty if I have understood their regulations right..?
