I am using a 50L 2Hp compressor at the min. I only use it for blowing tires up (car & Tractor which it does fine) & running nail guns. The finish nailer runs fine from the compressor with plenty of non running times between top ups even when realy going for it. But when using the framing nailer at any speed the motor will almost be running non stop. I have been thinking about getting a larger more powerfull one. Was thinking 3hp but sticking with about 50L. Then I thought that a smaller tank would stay at a higher pressure easier.
Running pressure is 80-100psi for the nailer & the system pressure is 120psi (cycles from 80-120psi).
What would be my best bet?
1, large tank & more powerfull motor
or
2, small tank & more powerfull motor
I assume that a 116psi compressor would not work as well as my current one even with a bigger motor?
I never spray paint. But I would use more air powered tools (but not often so not a major requirement) if the system would run them.
As its just for one project I dont want to spend a fortune cos existing one if fine for the tyre filling & occasional use.
