Advertising

Hi, I was talking with a friend over the weekend about some of my ideas and he suggested advertising on local radio. He said he knew someone who did this and it worked very well. I'm just wondering if anyone on hear has advertised on local radio and if it worked for you and/or there is any other kind advertising/marketing you have had experience with that worked or failed.

Hi, I haven't quite found a niche in the market yet, still in the ideas stage so to speak. At first i will try and take on anything. Got a few ideas for ornamental products but specialize in Stainless handrail/balustrade architectural glass and some structural

what u need is your product out in the market place so people can see it with your name on. a mate of mine makes good quality gates spent a grand on advertising and thousands of fliers and got not one reply advertising can be dead money

You need to workout what your selling and to whom first. Once you know the audience you can find the routes to them. Beware of the reports by radioworks, thinkbox, IAB et al

If I remember correctly your local radios slogan was "Chorley FM Coming in your ears" Hmmmm

advertising is very expensive and as said doesn't always work, word of mouth is the best form as its recommendations from satisfied people, ive never used radio but I can imagine it will be way more expensive then your local rag

If your product will appeal to bored housewives & sad dullards by all means advertise on local radio. Otherwise i fear you will be throwing money away.

I do wonder who actually listens to local radio. They only seem to have about 8 singles on loop.
