Right dawn is upon us...or me haha!
For those who haven't followed my post I have recently picked up a clarke 151en via some help on here from a few people!
Anyway I have all the gas, regulator but Unfortunately I'm waiting on the pipe to connect a hobby mig to a big bottle which isn't down yet,
I was waiting on an auto darkening helmet which is now down so I thought tomorrow I will have a stab at welding no gas to start with,
Couple of things, the roll of flux that came with my welder doesn't have any specifications on the size of wire but the tip that is already fitted to the welder is 1.03 and the wire fits through nicely. (So I'm guessing its 0.9mm wire....what thickness can I weld with this??)
I have managed to get hold of some thick steel it's about 5mm maybe more, the question is, what settings do I go off to just weld some beads? Should I go off settings I'm going to be using for 2mm steel or WACK everything on full like the manual states?
I'm looking forward to having a go but I'm not getting my hopes up haha! If the pipe comes down tomorrow then I will be having a stab at gas as well,
Any last tips?? As in what angle for the torch works for you etc etc, I have watched quite a few youtube videos and I guess it's just time to have a go now.
Wish me luck!!
Craig
