I had a 1980s Oxford MIG300 (see below) that was rated for 225A at 100%, it could run from 220-240V or 400-415V depending on internal links. I don't think I ever got it past about 180A from the single-phase 230V 32A but it was a beast - two man job to lift it in and out of a van. I bought it faulty from another forum member (can't even recall who it was now, sorry if that chap sees this ) and repaired it. Several years later it sold at open auction on Ebay for an amazing sum to a guy (not from the forum, or at least he never mentioned it) who then moaned his crust off about the price when he came (hundreds of miles) to collect it. If you didn't want it, why bid that much?
