hi, i have getten some paint off a friend to paint my rally car, i only have standad thinners.... will it matter if i mix paint + hardner + standad thinners? or do i need to go out and buy 2k thinners?
Hi
If you mix two diferent kind of paints is very possible they rejected each other, not in this moment, but latter.... One layer will be fragile because will have not enougth hardeness to support the one is aplying over.
Don't waste your money (and your time), but a correct set of paint to the car.

Not a good idea, as if you need to put on further coats of paint after initial ones have dried, there is every chance cellulose thinners will react with the cured 2K.
paint is a formula, made up of paint the right hardener and right thinners. yes you can bend the rules.but at your own peril.a paint rep will laugh at you when it goes wrong.
as above use the correct stuff for the job.
