Know its an absolute long shot but i'm always amazed at the knowledge on this forum,and i beleive there are a number of bikers on here as well.
Going to the TT next year and got the ferry sorted but i now need accommodation (as do hundreds of others!) keeping an eye out on the homestay forum at the moment but was just wondering if anyones been and have any contacts i could try or suggestions to make?
just trying to keep ahead of the game really.

i to have sorted ferry over next year but my girlfriend does not fancy riding 250 miles to the ferry with all the camping gear so looking for somewhere to stay as she did not go on the idea she could always stay home

I live there so if you want local advice etc then feel free to ask !

For some basic info :

A large amount of people choose to camp in the vast selection of campsites / football & rugby fields dotted around the island.

It depends largely on where you want to stay - some people choose Ramsey in the north as it tends to be a bit cheaper than Douglas in the East.

One of the main TT campsites is GlenLough (about 2 mins round the corner from my house) which is always very popular and gets live music during the TT and other entertainment - http://www.glenloughcampsite.com.

Other people choose from the selection of football and rugby fields (St Johns football club, Vagabonds rugby club, Union Mills football club - most of them rent out tent pitches and aren't expensive but don't tend to have many or any facilities except for maybe a toilet block.

I know a few co workers and friends who host homestay and really enjoy doing it, but it can be pot luck as to whether you get a nice host and vice versa of course !!
