my night rate is currently 7.5p/kWh. and currently my export rate is 15p/kWh... so i was tempted to look at exporting energy from the nigh storage, but then it didnt make scene, cycling the battery's for that.
i have the octoplus ev only tariff.. you need a compatible charger and they program it and then tell it when it charge the car at the cheapest rate.
other than the car it also give me 6h of 7.5p/kWh, so with this i charge my home battery to about 70% and this will give me most of the energy...
there is apparently a way to get paid with out being MCS.
it is under octopus and it claims all that is needed is a G98 or G99 submitted to the DNO, but this is only changed in the last 6 months or so
if i remember correct it is about £600 to get the necessary accreditation.
and tbh i have built my own off-grid system and paid to have an on grid system, and my work looks a lot better than theirs does
for the fusion bit, you have to remember it is a 40 year old machine and it was still breaking records.
and for the uk it will be 20-30 years to see a machine of the same size built.

i have had my system installed since july and so far have had 2300 Kwh generated and i have used as much as i can,
i am expecting over 5000kwh a year from mine currently, and with the current energy rates it has a pay back period of about 5 years.

i have got the MG5 and i find it good car (esp with the public sector discounts they do) it would be nice if it had a longer load space, with both front seats back there is about 5ft of usable space in the back. and to make the back seats go flat the lower seat cushions do lift out.

JET is still running currently, but it is officially clean up runs to remove as much tritium from the system as possible.
we also have MASTU on the culham site that is a baby compared to JET.
but i would keep an eye out for the results from the latest runs.... not 1 to 1 but some interesting...

before i got mine i was looking at a few and for the 10k difference between the mg5 and the others i was looking at it was a no brainier. i was very surprised by them tbh.

i have an EV it is the MG5 (estate) for cost of it.... i am paying the same for this new as i was for a second hand small van. running it is very cheep i do about 5p per mile, and servicing is cheep as well, minor service was £36.
