I always seated tyres with brake cleaner. There needs to be a decent gap for the solvent to mix with air and to get the flame inside the tyre, once it's in there the deflagration occurs and it usually just works. Definitely need to leave the valve out, otherwise the hot gas immediately contracts...
Regular levelling feet usually come with a nut for locking against a threaded baseplate. Those scaffolding adjusters wouldn't have a spare nut to lock with. Agroshield's method would work, but it's up to you which type of foot is best for you.
One other thing to mention - plastic knock-ins for...
Nah just 3, same as you :p
the other micortig, the one on the trolly, is my brothers. I bought it for him off @Robbie260. Absolutely cracking bit of kit. He now uses 4.0 rods everywhere on the farm with it, because he hasn't found a supply that trips or blows fuses with it yet!
I wasn't even...
Picked up some Wilson toolholders for the pressbrake, they're double sided to let you use tooling back to front which can be very useful.
They were designed for Amada brakes so i had to turn the top plates and mill the slot bigger to suit my Safan.
I got a new toy. Couldn't resist it.
The controlpro screen is really nice. Interesting to have side by side comparisons to my brother's basicplus version. I like them both - tbh the basic one is good enough for me!
I watched an interesting clip recently about the lockheed sr-71 blackbird. The black paint finish was chosen specifically for the high speed conditions, in the same way that the white paint finish was chosen specifically for the high speed conditions of the concorde.
The key difference between...
Balance of the lever point and mass on the sides of the gear, hidden by the front plate. Downward pressure puts a turning moment on the gears.
This version doesn't balance amazingly, it works ok and looks sweet, but the "lock" isn't very positive.
The mk2 prototype will improve on this.
I...
M20 or m24 feet should be fine. I have 6off m20 feet from WDS on my welding table that weighs 600-700kg and it has had vices and hammering and heavy equipment on it. I think 12 of those would be fine.
In contrast, I've seen cheap ebay m16 feet crack on similar benches. Nothing wrong with the...
Thanks for the kind words :) I'm a pretty practical guy, I'm not really about gimmicks unless it's genuinely useful as well as pretty. I've got two cheapo top mount torch holders that I use a lot for production work, but I've often had to mount them under the table which they're not designed...
We went standard PCL to PCL XF a couple of years back and it did make a difference on the blowguns and tyre inflators. Never had any issues yet. Genuine males and females (blue banded).
Yes they are hard to push together compared to the standard ones :)
This is a fun little project I've been working on. A TIG torch holder that uses geared gripping arms to hold the torch. It sits underneath a welding table using a magnet, and it's entirely made from stainless steel. The bright finish is actually very difficult to photograph!
I'm going to refine...
they need to bolt through to the chassis, or they won't be good for much!
The 3rd pic in my eyes is wrong, they should hinge from the outside so the load path is straight in line rather than trying to lever the pin out.
Those housings aren't the greatest anyway, I would far prefer these...
