In my opinion this is a terrible idea to use a block heater to prevent over cooling. Fit a thermostat or block off the radiator if it's running cold. A good block heater is fuel fired and can spew out 5-10kW and is used when stationary to get the engine in to a region where is is less likely to...
Thanks, it looks like it. The saw is 5kRPM and these blades all seem to be 2.4k.
Anyone know any good blades to buy? Current one says 254x3.0x30T - presumably 254 is the diameter in mm, is 3.0 the blade thickness and the bit at the end indicates it's a 30 tooth blade. This seems to be course...
Does anyone know if Rage3 multipurpose blades can only be fitted to the Rage saws? I've got an old Wickes own brand saw which needs a new blade and I like the look for the multipurpose ones.

Thanks,
Bikes don't undergo significant lateral G so it's not a problem.
Standard road cars now have a type of swirl pot arrangement inside them so it's much less required than it use to be. Unless your doing lots of track action on your fast road car you don't need to bother with all this dual pump...
As above.
For your leisure battery you want to get a specific leisure or AGM type which can handle deep discharges otherwise you will find it doesn't last very long!
Try the thin metal technique on your shelf. But before you do that set the welder to the lowest setting and give it a bash, then turn up the wire speed (current) only and try that, turn it up a bit more and try that... and so on. Then do the same with the power switch (voltage). This will give...
So my first go was with some hammerite thinned with 10% white spirit. I later found that xylene is slightly better to thin it with.
I then bought some Builthamber etchweld primer and cellulose thinners and started priming before then going over it with the hammerite.
I'm an engine block...
Personally I would not use the tecsound in a vehicle as it is not aimed at the automotive market and is probably not suitable for >80degC temperatures. Have you got the datasheet for it? They dont state any temp range on that link.
I would also strongly advise against bitumen products. Yes...
It depends what effect you're after.
Do you want to stop the panels droning (singing) when driving? If so you want some mass damping which should be ~50% coverage at the middle of any large flat panels.
If you want to stop air-transmitted noise (wind noise, some road noise which conducts...
I recently bought some Bilthamber primer and a "smart repair" gun from ebay. Great little set up. I had no spray painting experiance and just jumped two feet in and picked it up pretty quickly. I think the main thing is to just get started and try lots of different ways until you find one that...
My 2c. I think that for someone who knows how to weld the disposable bottles might be OK, but for a beginner they are useless. I went down the BOC deal route and although it seems like a high initial outlay, you don't need to worry about the gas problem and can concentrate on the welding. At £10...
Great work. I've got a mate with one that looks similar, maybe not as bad and would love to sort it out if only i had the space, time and knowhow!!!""!
I've been told that sore eyes is actually caused by the gasses generated during welding, not the bright light. Try some better ventilation and blink more :)
Tell him to get a surge protector on his PC's then... should have one anyway if he's that worried. Dropping the voltage wont cause any problems and if he doesn't want you to weld in his barn which is for car restorations then ask him what you're paying for.....
I have an old grinder that is a non latching switch on the top and always loved it, but I wanted a variable speed one so I could run knot wheels and not eat everything touched and leave my eyballs inside my head so this Christmas got a Dewalt 28117 which has a latching switch on the side. I was...
