Alright lads, after some advice, I am not a fabricator or welder to trade, I do have my own Bodyshop and worked the floor for many years so I do have skill set that includes mig and spot welding, I haven’t done ally welding.
so my drive at my house currently has two old wooden gates that...
If going dull there is certainly a curing issue, to be honest i dont really rate some of the upol products.
You would not have to apply basecoat you could just flat the black 2k and clearcoat it.
I would be very wary of putting high solvent content basecoat over your 2k it may re-act, there is...
Inspiring build, looks really good using an inflated wheel and tyre is such a simple but effective idea, I will pass it on to my stepson who does a bit of building work.
Hats off great looking workshop also interesting comments on building reg's
thought i would chime in here.
We use a dry system for flatting primer
320 abranet strips for blocking primer repairs, followed by a guide coat and either 400 or 500 on the D.A., we do this daily on around 50 cars a month and dont have any problems. Reason i prefer 400 disc to 500 is it is...
If you want to heat without flame I would go for a induction heater, much safer than a naked flame.
Sorry kinda old thread, I was looking for threads on the Eastwood plasma cutter
Agreed excellent work. :clapping:
Dread to think of the amount of hrs in a job like that.
How many hrs do you have in a resto of that size.
p.s. do you have the part number for that new air cap you mentioned, or just the number of the actual cap itself
.
Much better to use dust extraction when dry sanding
i made up a very simple setup works great powerful little hoover takes away almost all the dust
these are abranet strip's hundreds of little holes there is virtually no dust when using this type of strip
i have my own small bodyshop and for primer flatting we
guide coat primer then dry sand by block 320 abranet strips
once blocked
another guide coat
then sand with d.a. with a soft pad 500 disc
we use this process dailly and it works well
used to wet sand 800 wet and dry much to...
I am afraid that you have been misinformed the eyes and skin are not an entry point for isocyanate, this appears to be a popular misconception.
Getting mixed 2-pack isocyanate paint or liquid hardener drips/splashes on the hands/skin can cause dermatitis .
Have a look at this link and it...
spray filler is great for big flat panels that have a few repairs on them.
3 coats of sprayfiller guide coat it and block it with p180 strips on a good quality flat block, prime and paint.
Excellant product have not used it for a very long time but used to love it.
Came across this link today on another forum, i was that impressed i thought i would post the link.
Just click on next link at the far right of the page to see the progress

we try not to weld skins on these days for that excact reason you mention.
You can bond them on using any decent bonding sealer this is how most bodyshops do it.
Sometimes you have to weld some parts usaly round the window frame if there is a specfic flange that is spot welded.
But...
i dont like calling products down
But H.B. body products arent really up to much, i belive you followed the correct mixing ratio's . I have tried their clearcoats in the past and have found similar problems.
It is probaly down to the product and excessive film thickness.
4-5 coats is...

Some waterbase types you can flat for instance spies hecker waterbase can be flatted wet, but not with water. You use panel wipe.
Lesonal water base cannot be flatted wet i have tried all sorts with it, it can only be flatted dry. If you do have the misfortune to try and flat it wet it will...
Hi
Not very up on my gas's i use feromax 7 at work, i gave a friend of mine my old migatronic and he was going to get pub gas just so he could have a play with the welder.
