Hi, Totally agree, 2k does give a nice finish which sometimes may look wrong on older cars but I suppose it all depends on what kind of look you are after.
I have just fitted front safari windows in my 64 splitscreen camper and resprayed the front white. Looks amazing but not like the...
Hi Guys,
I finally got the bug sprayed and on the road.
Here are a few pics and many thanks for all the advice given on here.
I was pretty impressed with the finish and my wife is driving around all happy.
At the end of the day, To spray 2k you need the kit to keep you...

All was well with the outcome of the gun. Thanks for all the help.

Hi Guys,
Thanks to all the people that helped with my earlier 2 pack paint probs and spray gun.
I eventually got my ebay JGA spray gun replaced for a GTI pro gun (nice of the guy really). Got my other compressor working and an air fed mask.
Anyway, heres a few of the beetle painted and...
Hi Jaykay.
I got an email from the guy who says he will repair the gun or send me another as he has an identical one.
Sounds quite genuine,
Lets wait and see. Eggs are ready for face application if needed.
Andy
Hi guys,
Thanks for the offer of pics, I too hope I see the gun again.....
As for 2k, yeh I have read a lot on here about it and am taking things steady. Got the gear now and will only be occasional so hopefully I should be OK. Its still a heavy warning reading some of this stuff.
Thanks...
Hi Pedro,
Thanks for the info, thats why I originally went for a second hand jga as I had read some good feedback on them, though they are old they work well.
I had considered a clarke or sealey but again had read some bad stuff.
Problem is when you are green to something you tend to take...
Jga update
Hi all,
Just an update, managed to contact the guy about the gun, I have sent it back to him as he says he has lots of spares and he may be able to repair the problem hopefully.
I did check out the cost of a new one, the FLG range I can get for about 85 quid. Just in case he...
Hi Angusdog,
Yep, we love the Vdubs, I wont be going mad and its not all bad but the old bug is looking a lot better now and is ready for painting almost. Its not a full resto by any means but the wife loves it. I am a bus man myself.

Thanks guys for all the help, I really do appreciate it.
I will take it out tonight including the spring and washer and see what happens.
Be interesting to see any photos of your valves just so I can see how it goes together.
Does anyone know how much an overall kit is for a JGA...
Thanks guys,
I have taken the assembly out including the small rod but the spring and rubber seems to be stuck in there.
Can I just pull it out or will it shaft the gun.
Cheers.

jga gun help
Hi,
Heres a photo of my gun, the trigger is loose sortof indicating the air valve needle is stuck in slightly.
Just to note that when the trigger is not pressed no paint comes out, but air continues to come out of the air cap. When I squeeze the trigger paint / thinners...
Hi all, thought I would post a few pics of my work,
This is what the Beetle looked like when I bought it.

jga help
Hi,
I have got the exploded diagrams and it shows a needle valve to control air flow and one to control paint flow so I dont think that air should be coming out all the time.
Also, The air control screw can be tightened up and the air stops but no paint can be sprayed either...
2k warning
Hi guys,
I am just started spraying 2k and have got my air fed mask and it has also cost me another compressor but listening to Shoreanglers comments and others it may have been worth it in the long term.
I have sprayed cellulose before and have not been happy with it but so...
Jga.
Sorry guys,
I meant to say that air just streams out of the air cap.
When I pull the trigger the fluid does come out ok but the air is just on all the time.
