Hi Cris,
Looks a little different from the last time i saw the car... Benji from 106RR
That panel from Pug is about 51 quid i think. Well worth replacing!
I had the Draper 160HF (Cemont TX150E Smarty) was quite a good bit of kit for the money. Lasted 2 years, then the power pack melted inside. Repaired it and got a further 5 months. Worked resonably well for a cheap unit but it wasn't used everyday however.
Always the best way to tell is on the dyno. When i worked at a dyno long ago a lad brought a Mk2 Golf with a 16v lump on MV Augusta bodies and expected huge power. Inevitably it wasn't quite what he expected.
Added a set of trumpets from the BMW M3 airbox, instant 20Hp just from the length...
Looking good, is it a standard lump?
You'll probs want a nice set of long length air horns/stacks on there to get a decent torque curve.
A bit of length makes all the difference my missus tells me..
I have/had a wolf 200 Tig welder, from ebay years ago (Bright red box with one dial). Worked really well for a cheapo machine for about 18months. HF packed up, but if you open the case you can adjust the contacts, but it finally packed up completely never got around to fixing it..
I did...
Ordered one from Weldequip a little earlier in the week, so fingers crossed it'll be a really nice machine going off what the Migs are like..!
My Draper (Cemont) HF160 decided to **** itself (again!) mid weld so gone for a transformer based unit. Not fussed about size or power usage as it'll...
