Great first project the main object is to make sure both wheel hubs DC (dead centre) is squre to the hitch that is that the measurement from hitch to DC of hub is the same on both sides. I would take the A frame off. axle off, cut one side off, trim, put side on. centreline frame and put A frame...
Are you using the welding mask that is in the photo, if so get one that is a helmet, having both hands is more useful to your technique.
it will allow you to keep it steady in regard to wire stick out ( shroud distance from weld pool) and particularly hand speed.
An nyong haseyo, maybe wire too big. even though it specifies 0.9mm wire maybe try 0.6mm solid wire to get started. argon mixes usually work good such as argoshield, check www.boc.com.au website for exact composition should have something available there. try talking to your local welding...
Have you guys got a gasweld over there? Cigweld and Lincoln both have great single phase stuff teetering on that price range. I can't imagine that you would have alot of trouble finding a hardware store in Perth. I would use internet as a last resort, normally go to as many stores as you can...
Just had a look at the Tig tutorial. has that been revised caused it just seemed a little different than the one I looked at a year ago. Fantastic I'm pretty confident that it is the best tig tutorial I have found.
Looking forward to improving at Tig:welder:

Done a far bit with duragal, what happens is the zinc fumes try to come up through your welds, hot quick welds usually work ok. I personally take the time to grind back the area that i intend to weld as the gal is only 0.3mm thick or so.and there is less splatter aswell. the fumes are no good...
Thanks guys was some fiddling but was able to get into safe mode by pressing f8 as it started up. the virus didn't make it easy to do a scan, as the scan shut down during scanning so when one finally succeeded I did a couple of full scans to make sure, only took a few days:rolleyes: thanks again...
I can't see you having any trouble getting work, where i work they are way understaffed and still other companies are poaching our staff. if anyone is serious about coming to australia consider that not all mining jobs are paying outragous money and if you want work it easy to find. most jobs...
Hey guys, just wondering if there is anyone on here who is confident with virus removal. the spyware etc has just run out (nice of them to do the whole reminder thing) and this after noon it got a virus which is how we found out. the virus tells me that i have heaps of viruses and they are...
How thick is the plate? if you start at say 100 for 8- 10mm plate and adjust either up or more likely down. make is material is clean of cutting oils rust etc, root face of 1.5mm and root gap of 1.5 -2mm. Most of the welders I've used are fairly newer so their amp settings are reliable. 70 amps...
I use riggers gloves great but shorter than those oven mitts, i tend to keep sleeves down under them etc. they are about half the price of gauntlets/ oven mitts as well, I also put a guantlet on over the top of my riggers glove when doing long passes, but just the guide hand.
If your running a 6013 at amps then your too cold for 8mm and up plate.
it will tell you that it is within range and it is, but slight variations in hand movement will affect it. start at 100 amps and adjust to suit, and be confident. a confident state of mind is a steady state of hand, if you...
In australia we are very fortunate to have some really good made in PRC products, probably because of different fair trade arrangements or transit costs, what product do you sell Richied
A very happy birthday to your daughter to start with:clapping:
When we got ours the saleslady said to get stand aswell that has a cooling fan as they tend to overheat with continuos use and is not covered in warranty, so we did. Wii fit is absolutely...
you can turn it up a bit on the root run, but be in control of the weld, if it gets globby then its not under control, with practise you'll get a good weld by balacing heat, wire feed and hand speed with technique and good welding procedure. have fun tweaking it a bit, and good luck with it.
I'd agree with Shenion, do the inverted v for peno and go over with a weave stopping in the slight undercut of the root run for a few seconds and then weave back across. I still of my own accord do a peno check on most vertical ups (as they are usually structurally crucial), and am confident...
