It's a single phase motor. The box is sealed and the cable goes inside the motor so not possible to check if three or four strands. Looking at the, Chinese, instructions the wiring diagram does show four strands going into a capacitor so assume that is in the black box rather than the motor...

If I've got a vehicle on ramps, and then want to put it on axle stands, the large trolley jack doesn't lift high enough. At present I end up putting a block of wood on the trolley jack pad to get the extra height but obviously that isn't a particularly good idea.
Galv and then paint would be my option. Easier to recoat in the future. My railings are galv'd then painted and whilst the paint has worn so needs redoing that is a simply job than redoing powder coating !
There are times when my trolley jack doesn't lift high enough so I'm considering one of the circa £70 airbag jacks off eBay.
Has anyone here bought one ? If so are they worth having ?

If you haven't welded before, and don't ever intend doing so in the future, then rather than buying a welder I'd recommend getting somebody else to do the repair.
