Are there hard and fast rules governing the type of weld required by MOT inspection.
For instance I've heard everything must be seam welded, but seam welding right across a flat panel (VW bus rear arch bottom half) is going to warp it a bit. Is it ok to sort of half weld in on with say 10mm...
The reason for the BOC £12 handling charge is that that's the money the distributor makes - the rest seems to go directly to BOC. Can't expect the distributor to provide safe storage etc for nothing can you.
Compared to the rubbish disposable bottles anything is cheap.

In the end I put a plastic sleeve over the collet which was tight enough to follow the taper but thick enough to be squeezed so it gripped the liner nicely.
Hopefully that will also solve any potential back flow problems.

I need a regulator that will fit a BOC argoshield bottle and show the flow rate. Am I right in thinking that most of the regulators I see on ebay show the pressure left in the bottle rather than the flow rate? Do I need to get a double guage one? Any recommendations would be appreciated as there...
I couldn't wait so I had a look and there isn't a gas valve in the torch - just the electrical switch. Does this mean I'll have to keep switching off the gas manually to avoid wasting it? Seems like an odd arrangement.

Just got a welder - SIP TOPMIG170 but needs attention. The bits in the piccy are just inside the welder after the feed rollers
The gas pipe to the torch fits over the left hand end of the big bit.
The sleeve goes up the gas pipe, right through the big bit and should be clamped in place...
