I bought a 180 in 2020 and have been very pleased with it, the only negative as Eddie49 states in his link is that the welding voltage only displays when welding (at which point your eyes are looking at the weld) and switches off as soon as you stop
A friend has just bought a 181 and given the...
In the past when faced with the same problem I go to a re-mapping website, (even though I have no interest in re-mapping), key in the reg, and it tells you current power and power after re-map
Hope this helps
I know it’s an old thread but it seems pointless creating a new one on the same subject. I spent last week down at MPH and thoroughly enjoyed it, a couple of things have changed since Mitch (Burdekin) started this thread
Geoff has now “ semi retired” (or as he calls it semi retarded) he has no...
Thanks for the reply’s, basically I’m just looking for a “clean up” I’m not tied to dry blasting but I have dry blasting kit so it seems easier
I was just curious whether bead blasting would do the job in one pass or whether I need to blast it with something more aggressive first
Hi
I wonder if someone can offer some advice please, I have an alloy gearbox casing that I would like to beadblast.
My question basically is will beadblasting clean it in one pass or should I grit blast it first and then follow up with bead blasting
Thanks in advance

Thanks very much for the feedback

I’m essentially contemplating buying a “Dacia” so shouldn’t expect a “BMW” , I understand that, your advice has been most reassuring.
Thanks also for the filament advice.
Thingyverse is also an eye opener! I own a VW California...
I’m fancying a 3D printer myself
is an Ender 3D pro a reasonable choice for a beginner? Currently £142 on bang good
also people suggest using a good quality filament, what type, and from where is good to buy from?
thanks
Hi Sam
Looks like an interesting project, do you mind if I ask why 42.4 tubing? At first I thought it must be an imperial size, but it doesn’t seem to correspond to any standard fraction.
If you were able to gain access to something like a JD2 tube bender there doesn’t seem to be a former...
Thanks cammy9r that’s the ones I’d been looking at! Overall are you happy with the quality of them?
Dcal how do the Justin baker ones compare price wise?
Thanks
can anyone help with recommendations? I bought this saw a couple of years ago of this forum
https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/clarke-metalworker-cold-saw.85498/
It’s sat in the back of the shed barely used, but this week I’ve got round to using it and could really use a re-sharpen...
