Yeah there were a few bits got binned as they didn't quite match there opposite number!
Worst part was trying to get them positioned right as once you got a good tack on and the bar wasn't quite in the right spot it was easy to bend the bar out of shape trying to shuffle it around.In the end...

I did have a small one one cnc'd from aluminium and mirror polished it,thought it would look great but didn't go together as well as I thought.Crystal isn't a bad idea though,its all wrapped now though so will have to wait till after its opened.

You need to clean your steel right back to bright shiny metal.Get an angle grinder on the go and once you have ground back to clean metal you will be able to see exactly what is going on.Even on the top photo (where the metal looks like it has been wire brushed?) the rut from the pitting will...
Caterpillar steel toe jobbies for me.Have been wearing pairs of the same type for years at work so know they last,reasonable price and after a couple of days breaking them in they are as comfortable as wearing trainers.
