Ok, seems sorted, managed to get the most important job done (cut barrel in half for the misses) looks like it may just have been damp and leaving it on with the cover off in the sunshine seems to have fixed it.
put all new consumables in the torch.
tried air pressure from 40 to 80 psi.
some progress, after leaving it turned on (no cover) in the sun for an hour it has done a cut of about 600mm before it cut out, so my current thoughts are that it is damp and some drying out may fix the problem, i will...

i need a plasma cutter but i don't have one.
you know what its like when you get a vision of how you want something to look and it is "art"
its ok i...

another good idea ruined buy it not working.
but worth asking before i spent any money on it.
Cheers
Vince
i have a lathe so i can mod a mig nozzle to hold a tig electrode,
i probably won't use any gas as i just want a cut, the mig does a fine job until it starts building up a weld, raggy is fine, in fact its better than a clean cut for this project.
any idea which electrode as there seems to...

I don't have a plasma cutter and its not worth spending the money on one just for this project
i tried cutting the shapes...
