My son is a qualified electrician, it cost him £000’s to qualify and costs are ongoing to keep up with regulations, running expenses of his van, public liability insurance, etc etc.
To me as I’m not an electrician it looks a lovely neat job but my son knows his stuff and especially up to date...
Get a centre punch with a decent point on it carefully mark the centre of the stud with the punch then gradually increase the size of the punch mark until you have a decent ‘lead in’ for a small sharp drill , carefully drill keeping it central , when you have drilled a decent depth into the stud...

I bought a brand new £1.5k espresso machine from Italy and noticed the pump was turning the wrong way, on further investigation I found the live and neutral were around the wrong way ! I sent a photo to the manufacturer and they asked me if I would swap it around
Rats will eat anything but the best baits are what they normally feed on, in the chicken pen it’s the same feeder as in the
OP photo and the rats help themselves but I’ve learned where the rat ‘hot spots’ are around the farm and bait with a couple of handfuls of corn. Unless in an enclosed area...
I’ve been shooting rats at a local farm once or twice a week for the last nine years ! Anywhere there is animal food you will find rats, at the farm stables the horse food was stored in plastic dustbins and the rats eat through the bins !

I did my apprenticeship (sheet metal work) from 1967-1971 earning about £3 per week ! My mates were working on any job that paid well and earning 10x what I was , they had a much better lifestyle than I did and yes I had skills they didn’t, my training did earn me good money after I’d left the...
I think car manufacturers started using thinner gauge steel to make a lighter vehicle to improve fuel economy and also improved the rust proofing to suit but it seems to be going back to the old days.
Yeh, I used to make a comfortable living doing the welding for a couple of local garages , mini subframes, Austin 1100/1300 subframe mounting panels inner and outer sills etc but rustproofing improved and the work tailed off, think I’d better dust off the Mig !
