As far as I know Gasman is still going, he supplies the company I get my gas bottles from.
I think the company is Target Tools and Equipment and they are based in Gloucester. Its worth getting his number off yell.com (I'm not sure if the mods would want me posting his number)
HTH, reno
Strongman Tools sell these, I've seen them demo one with a Rover 2000 saloon, so not a light car, at the Beaulieu Autojumble. I have to be honest when you first look at it it looks a bit on the flimsy side for the intended purpose but the car lifted easily and was held up securely and didn't...
No complaints here from another clarke user. Decent bit of kit for learning on.
As far as I know all current clarke mig's are made in Europe - Italy I believe. A few of their starter tig sets are made in PRC but they state this in their catalogue.
I don't know about a pat on the back I think a medal would be more fitting!
Are replacement panels available or will you have to fab everything yourself?
The very best of luck, reno
Mike, who were you talking to? I see your a fellow Essex man. I've used IS&G in Chelmsford in the past. They are happy to sell to Joe Pub and their delivery charge wasn't silly either. Give them punt.
Cheers, reno
That sounds a bit like business link. Brilliant at telling you they can help with this and help with that but when it comes to it they've never seemed capable of doing anything. I know a few companies that have had them in to see what they can do to help in sales and marketing and in each...
Think I'll pick one of these up tomorrow.
Just one question what are they like at chomping into a rusty panel say when an air saw or cut off grinder are likely to damage an a joining panel?
cheers, reno
If your going to fit a sub you'll need an amp to run it either as a active sub kit which will have a built in amp or a passive sub which would need a separate amp.
If you want a sub the radio would need to have the capability to control it - from memory that would be an RCA connector as well...
Don't tell me that I was walking like John Wayne as I left the shop as it was...:ashamed: Now I feel stupid!
But in my defence it was bleeding freezing this winter and at the time I thought that was a small price to pay if it meant that I avoided freezing my wedding tackle off...
I've used the machine mart parts washer fluid diluted to 3:1 in the past and its been ok in the little clarke parts washer. Obviously it would have been more affective it I wasn't such a tight git and used the fluid neat.
As for paraffin I didn't realise that B & Q and Wickes sold it, I was...
Oilcooled, think long and very hard about this before making a decision. In recent times a degree has become a prerequisite for most jobs.
I did a degree in product design, not the best subject I know and in hindsight I probably should have moved to the mechanical engineering course. But...
Hitch,
Can be done quite easily on corel paint shop pro. If you don't need the program for anything else just download the 30 day trail and save yourself the 50quid...

If you've got one a needle scale torque wrench would be good for the bolt down test. That way you should be able to see when the bolt starts to creep off rather readjusting a ratchet wrench until it stops clicking.
Cheers, reno
Clueless, that's a bleeding good deal! The one my local Costco (Thurrock) has the one I linked to for £103 inc. vat which is the 2 US ton model. Think I know where I'll be going this weekend...
Thanks for the replies chaps much appreciated! :clapping:
Neil H:
Thanks for that! I think I'm leaning towards the Arcan now...
Pedro:
Unfortunately it looks a bit more terminal than just needing a top up. I used it yesterday morning without a problem then in the afternoon it would...
As there's a legion of spanner twirlers on here I thought it would be the best place to get some decent opinions.
My current jack packed up today while I was outside in a rush and it was raining leaving me wet and in a mood . To be fair its been playing up for a bit now so I think its...
