This story reminds me of a situation at my previous house, contractors/the water board screwed up basically, next door wanted their supply on a water meter, they connected the meter to the pipe to my house. Lol
Yeah, sure does. Personally I'd always rather have two or three say Lidl grinders over one mega expensive one because at the end of the day it doesn't matter how much a tool costs, they can all fail/break. At least I have a second or third one to finish the task at hand.
That is true but just like with say mobile phones, why does the alternative have to be so expensive in the first place? Not all of us can afford an iPhone period.
My thoughts too, same goes for the Lidl's ones, I have two on the go, cutting disk on one, grinding in the other, saves keep swapping disks. Both machines still working fine but if one does go bang, no big deal.
If you want to get one from MM they are now down to £19.20 including vat. I had to email my local store first, luckily they had one,... shame that they decided to axe it so soon, so far I'm impressed with it.
Or a good excuse to keep an older diesel vehicle going that doesn't have that adblue requirement.:)
I just can't see an EV pickup being any good at carrying or towing heavy loads for miles and if/when they are, they will cost way too much for me I'm sure. My neighbour said the same thing the...
I have checked on line for my own vehicle after having an MOT and that didn't show up instantly, far from it,...maybe it were just a slow Friday morning at the dvla but it didn't show up until the following Monday.
When you say last of the year, I hope you don't mean 2021. :o
I do suspect that 2021 is going to be full of more lockdowns/restrictions so planning on doing anything is going to be tricky.
It would be nice to know of a torque figure for example, something to use as a gauge to know for sure that a valve is making contact with a piston rather than it just being compression.
Anyone heard of the possibility of bending a valve whilst turning an engine over by hand? You know that the compression stroke is coming so need to use a bit more force but if the timing is out how much force would be needed to ruin things?
Is it possible whilst using a short spanner or ratchet...
On my motorcycle it's more of a locking plate rather than a pin, there are slots in the other end of the camshafts for this plate to slide into, mine didn't line up like shown in the picture so I had to loosen off the bolts holding the sprockets, rotate the engine again to get the slots in...
Er, how far back does 'always' cover exactly? Not being funny but the cars that I've done cam belts on haven't had this design of cam sprockets. I've yet to do the belt on my wife's 2013 Panda, is that likely to have it for example??

Some may find the above link useful.:)
Now is having slots in spockets on the end of camshafts a common thing now? I had to check the camchain timing on my...
I agree, even a Dr who works for the WHO didn't think that this version were that much of a big deal over the original,.....but now there is a 3rd version of it.:o
Lol, I use to work for a distributor of that brand of tool, see those transformers on the right, had no end of those come back. Sadly most of their stuff isn't of good quality.
No offense but that's your opinion of me and I certainly haven't meant that to be the case,...I do post on other threads about making stuff etc.
Politics you mentioned, well you could attach that word to practically any item/subject nowadays so I/we could live in fear of commenting on anything...
