What I would do is mark out where the bottom plate should go the run the a cutting discs over it to giver a rebateb then v the the other plate and weld them up
May be im getting old but I love to pick up the gas and weld with/cut with it .may be the way I was taught but a good gas welder/cutter is hard to find now a days
Welding is a progression there is no top status ,some of the guys I work with can put a weld down with one hand while the other is holding the face mask , and I think I can weld lol
Gas welding seems to be a dying art now a days I was lucky enough to be taught by an old hand at it he could weld aluminium with gas some thing I have never tried always tig`d alum
To be brutally honest your 2/3rds the way there slow it down mate turn the amps down and get a feel for it . little tip tack the plate in every 3 inch or so then weld between the tacks . If that was your first attempt then your are head and shoulders above some iv`e seen
you need to rethink that 30 mins per panel thats some going..go back work your sums and put your pirce togther and stick to it! your working for your self not for free . hourly rate away(on site ) from the workshop is more expensive than in the work shop .so factor that in aswel
Is it possible to have a combi boiler and a back boiler (baxi burnall) on the same system the combi would be used for domestic hot water and a stand by for the radiators while the back boiler would be use as the primary heat source for the radiators?

thunder bolts aka (multi monti) bolts swear by them started using them over 2 year a go never looked back since brilliant for close the edge fixing and they give that squeaking :laughing:noise when you tighten them as they cut their own thread the resin is good as well but i tend to stick to...

30 yrs in the trade I would say yes ,a lot of company’s by me advertise for welders and all they want is some who can be given the drawings go a way and come back with the finished product, not needing some one to hold their hand every step of the way
