Finally got round to ordering parts from Sealey on Friday afternoon, brilliant service, arrived this morning. PCB now fitted and its all working :welder::clapping::clapping::clapping:
Massive thanks to eddie49 for the info and advice on how to test the machine :thumbup::thumbup: I...
I can't remember if it was the round type housing like yours or the smaller rectangular one I ordered as it was little time ago but worth calling them as always found their prices for most parts are pretty reasonable.
Give Clarke Service a call on 020 8988 7400 give them the model number of your clarke compressor and ask for a price for an air intake filter assembly
They're not expensive, its been a year or two since I bought one but the housing was around £6 without filter at that time.
Thanks for all your help Eddie, I am just going to order a new board from Sealey and hopefully that will solve the issues, going further into diagnosing the PCB is a little bit beyond my skills  I got the welder very cheap due to the issues so even after the cost of a new PCB its still...
I followed the instructions in the other thread and tested the 4 wires and I have 26.2v 18.8v 18.9v and 26.2v Then I disconnected and joined the 2 wires from the relay on the PCB and the wire does arc when touching the earth clamp. So I guess I have the same problem as the other guy and its...
Thats absolutely brilliant Eddie, thank you very much, I've read the thread and feeling a lot more confident with the info I now have on what to test and how. Only used to testing 12v DC on cars bikes etc and wasnt sure where to even start with this. Will get onto it this afternoon and update...
Heres a better pic of the PCB that might help! The white 4 wire connector bottom left on the PCB has the red and black wires that go to the wire feed motor
Thanks, have had a look and there is one beefy cable from the diode pack (Arrowed) running to the body of the euro connector which looks like an earth
all the other cables from the diode pack go to the transformer.
The only wires going direct to the wire feed motor come from the PCB (Red &...
Not sure exactly where that is :ashamed: but trying to get a parts diagram for the machine just now so that I can at least identify what is what.
At the moment I'm quite confident the torch is fine and the euro connector on the machine, Been away for a couple of days so not had the
chance to...
Thanks Jay1st, I have checked the Eurotorch and all appears to be working as it should also swapped torches with mates welder and still nothing.
Did think I should be hearing a relay but nothing happening at all.
Looking for a little advice, Just picked up a Supermig 230 today, the machine powers up, light on, fan running etc but nothing happens when you press the trigger, no clicks, it does absolutely nothing.
So far I've tried two different torches on it from a friends machine that I know work and...
Bought one about a year ago second hand for quite a good price, in really good condition but not well maintained, gave it a good clean and serviced the torch etc and so far have no complaints at all.
It has a parweld 4m torch and I made a new 4m earth lead for it. The original was a bit short...
Hi
Used to have a 151te which is probably around the same weight as the 160 & never found it a problem to lift in & out of the car & that was a lot more than once or twice a month. Now got a 230te and can still lift that into the back of the car (just)
If you read alot of the advice...
Was looking at the hse website about 2pack paints and spotted this the the last paragraph seemed worth a mention
From HSE Web Site.....

Hi Brightspark,
didnt know you could do that with the armoured cable, thought it had to be used with the glands. Thats solved that problem & made things quite a bit easier.
Will go with the 16amp sockets & 16amp mcb just now as already have these & if I have problems with the welders later...
Hi FF
Thanks, Thought that it might have to be C Type mcbs but from what I've read in other posts some people dont seem to have any problems with the B type used with similar sized welders, will see how the B type are as already have these and if I have to change them its not really a hassle...
Hi Folks,
been a member of this excellent forum since the beginning of the year and have learned a lot from it in that short time, this is my first post as so far I have always found the answers I needed somewhere in the forum but although I found quite a lot of info about the garage wiring...
