whether you get the drill fitting ones or grinder etc,the best way is with a much slower speed, too fast and all you do is heat up the coating which will stick and or clog.
Your'll also be surprised how much you can get off with some serious course grit (24+ grit) paper by hand,yes...

In my school days (70's) it was all metric, metal /wood work plus tech drawing, yet i still ask for 4''x2'' and a sheet of 8x4'
I find metric much easier for me,each to their own i guess

If its not on the public highway sod all anyone can do,unless your endangering the lives of others around with intent
If its on so called defined private land and its not destructive it becomes a civil matter not criminal
Big example i like to play with not following directional arrows in car...
Tucked away in the darks of a drawer since the dawn of man i've had some OA copper coated filler/welding rods,a good hand full of 1.5mm dia(few 32's also)
Can i use these as tig filler rods also
Cheers

So what was you welding at such a high setting with 4mm rods?
You say you started off at 200amps and knocked it down to 180 while welding(that right?)
I'm no MMA master but i've never seen a return/work lead go as bad as that, wolf 200 amp what?
Just curious of course
