I've recently got this.
Portable Power - The Original and Best Jump Starters – Portable Power Shop
They have been on the market years but were sold until recently exclusively through snap on. Old school tech but tough, simple, spares available, design hardly changed for years and loads of old...
Recently bought one of these, top quality and marketed as made in england. However, the charger is made in china and there is a good chance the battery might be too.
Last year bought a makita lxt impact gun which turned out to be made in england, although all my other lxt stuff is made in...
Big list of old school tool makers now under James Neil Holdings. Many of these names haben't been heard of for years.

Things like that happened a lot. Having drives done thinking its single leaf and dosen't need a cable duct between the opening (it does for safety sensors). Hanging gates wrong side of posts making it difficult to achieve hinge geometry without a silly looking bracket.
Re cardington. It whats the owner of the wagon told me (hes sold it abroad now). He showed me pictures of the hangers being used by the building research establishment to test timber buildings for resistance against fire and explosives. Wagin had been previously used to test airfields.
Re...
Do you know of the one on Cardington hangers? Used to be a Rotinoff wagon on tne steam rally scene which was used to close the doors after the mechanism failed
If you ask BFT they should provide a link to a bit of a design package they have which will tell you the concrete requirements for the foundation pad for a cantilever gate.
Safety wise there can be no unprotected pinch points. Protection can be mechanical or electrical (or both). For example...
I was issued an ipad in my last job for electrical test certs mostly. I broke it a few times, and a few of the others did too. I found it awkward, fiddly and everything seemed to be done backwards when used to a windows system. Fount it a bit gimmicky. I would not have one myself, but a lot of...
Don't know if anyone is knowledgeable here on siemens logo? I'm wanting to monitor outdoor temperatures as bit of wildlife survey to do with hedgehog hibernation.
I have a little test set up but struggle with the analogue aspects of the things. I can configure a proximity sensor to work and...
That set looks like it was 1970's, but in the 1980's similar sets were available. Britool became part of James Neill holdings and the miscellaneous items listed were supplied by other Neill companies, ie files were Stubbs, hacksaw and punches were eclipse, pliers were Elliot Lucas etc. The logo...
Surely you just need to be sensible and work to your own limits. For instance, I've made heavy-ish gates, and never had a hanger fail, but I wouldn't be welding pipe flanges and the like. I've worked with 'proper' welders and pipefitters in the past and know the difference. That said, there are...
I sold this one two years ago for fifty quid.

One of the things, along with part P (not qualifications, just shelling cash out to be in a club) that closed my business down. I was doing automatic gates and a few years ago measurment of operating force began to be expected, 2 grand for the machine. Not too terrible though if yourworking to...
Way I understand it from my recent meeting with HRMC is you can earn up to 8 grand self employed alongside your full time employment. It still must be declared as income though, and records kept.
Anyone more knowledgeable please correct- above just my interpritation.
