I used a wall hung bag type dust , chip extraction , too bag off connected it to a 65l blue drum via an elbow with a baffle inside andcexhausted it out of the shop , if chips appeared outside shop the drum was full Google Thien baffle , worked extremely well , 100 mm dia hose and fittings...

I have just been using a tractor driven splitter, it was made 40 years ago it needs a table around the anvil of the splitter to support the rounds , unless all the stuff you are splitting is small , some of the rounds we we were doing were 3ft dia beech, two of us to get it on the splitter,
