I find it more enjoyable than mig'ing ,although that is probably down to me owning a sip Mig.

Ok,I am learning that there is a fine line between good penetration and blowing holes,however since doing the sip transformer mod I think things are on the up turn?!??
Seem to be able to get more consistent results.
So I am opening it up to the floor to see if I am deluding myself...
well I overcame my impatience and just waited for my maplins transformer to come in the post.
An excellent mod.Thanks to all on this and other threads that have devoted their time and efforts to share this mod.
Now I at least have a shot at learning to weld.My weld beads look alot better...

Ok so I have got this old hifi amp knocking around.
It has a ac power rating of 160 W so should be about 160 VA.
It seems to have two secondary windings.
Between earth and each winding I get about 35 volts...
