I find this on sub 1mm, it needs a softer start than most cheap sets have and consistency. Beware folk who say they can weld thin with anything, typically they are meaning 1mm or 1mm patch over something thinner. The more expensive the mig, the lower the start amps will be. 20amp sets start at...
Vaillant, Veissmann, Ideal Vogue all have stainless exchangers, there may be others. When I had mine replaced I was shocked by how little the plumbers knew about this stuff. Nobody offered to size the boiler they just guessed it, none knew about boiler modulation or Opentherm. They tell me the...
I have an Apex 200 which is basically an Everlast 210ext without the plastic flip-up cover on the front, could also be same as the R-tech but not looked up close. Came from Germany and I use the Everlast manual as it's better and software is the same. May be hard to find now but worth looking...
Some proper testing of Mig welders here. All US boxes but the lowest amp test was interesting with the Lincoln managing 21A but not bad performance from some cheaper boxes.
Takes a little while to get used to the voice.
Facom NS1600F here. Gets into tight spaces, more torque than my Makita electrics but less than tyre industry fave Ingersoll Rand Titanium (why your wheel nuts don't come off).
This is such a shame. I always respected their business model as they didn't devalue the name by going down market unlike so many others (Ryobi, B&D, Draper etc; you may have your own suspects). Their VHM tape and bodyshop abrasives were better than the competition and worth the extra money.
Somebody should do a PHD thesis on the Facebook Lanoguard effect. For years I've been banging the drum in the JDM groups about fluid film or S50 and the dangers of rubberized coatings but always shot down by folk who insist on Waxoyling every year (followed by a 3K welding bill 5yrs after...
I avoid Waxoyl and the like unless it's direct to a rust free surface. I would definitely avoid re-coating if rust is under there, watch this for the full horror of encapsulating rust under coatings:
This old cynic doesn't rate anything on existing rust other than media blasting followed by...
Probably a bit late for this as you've bought your parts but I found these people cheaper than the e-bay shops and the kit had more in it:

Might help someone else as I had the same problem with mine (still built air but took...
Hello all. I can't seem to find my preferred paint stripper anymore. I used this unbranded stuff off e-bay at about £25 which was basically old Nitromors. Does anyone know if this is still available anywhere or if there is an alternative; is Starchem any good? Not long ago I would buy a few on a...
This thread made me check on some old stuff inherited from dead father in law. I got his Myford ML7, tools and daughter so 2 out of 3 ain't bad. On closer inspection, in the bottom case are some old Snap-on things including a 'double' UJ swivel type joint like I've not seen before. I never use...
It was clear but that wont stop us trying to help.....what bike is this, BTW? I have to source all manner of stuff from around the planet, usually Japan but have had success on German e-bay as well so maybe you could get NOS from somewhere?
They do break. I have to do this a lot with bike rads. I use stanley knife blades in pairs to get on either side of it and press together while bending straight. Some will break whatever you do.
Call me a cynic/old socialist/whatever but this looks like 2 bits of flat bar and a ratchet strap for a only £83.50...
