Looks like a tidy one and thats impressive as there cant be many left now !
Ive never been able to fault other Sealey stuff in the hobby range - if you are wleding all day then its not going to cut it but for the odd bit there and there....
I had a Surf a while ago and wish id kept it in all honesty !
What Sealey model do you have Nick as I may try and get somethink I own for future work as I never like borrowing ideally !
I dont think the bodywork is thicker than the usual type of the age I just dont have a way of measuring what is there currently.
I guess it all comes down to if I should be trying to match whats there already or aiming for a set thickness ?
Some research on the welder shows that minimum is 30A...
Hi guys
Ive some welding to do on the rear lower quarter panels on my Landcruiser (its behind the rear bumper but id still like to make it neat ! ).

Im not a fabricator is what I should have said ;)
Im great with things that work and currently exist - designing things and making them is not my thing
So try and make the motor gear smaller and the ramp one bigger ?
I dont think the motor one will go any smaller - the ramp one ill have to look at as I imagine going bigger may cause it to contact the motor pulley as they are rather close as it is from what I remember.
Certanly someting to...
More emails and getting such a mixture of info :(
Motor places say that ill struggle with even their most powerful motors.
Inverter places say that ill need a rotary inverter and they are mega money :(
Is something like this possible ...
SPoke to a few motor suppliers today and seems that none of them will gurantee it will work as good as it should etc so have sent them more details on my motor to see what the best comparable motor is :(
Bigger VFD is looking more and more likely but which brand and rating is now looking more...
Thats a very kind off to try yours ford34/2 :)
I do somewhere buy like you say it must be the fact its undersized for the motor and cant handle the load / amps ?
We played with every setting possible (all 180 of them) and it always seems to come back to the fact that with a heavy vehicle on there it will just hit the maximum amps displayed by the VFD (11A).
I guess we need a VFD that can output more amps then ?
If so what size VFD should I be after ? I...
But with the converter I have no idea what I need ?!
Currently running a VFD and its fine with the lighter stuff but once something heavier is on there it just seems to hit maximum amps and stop one it takes the weight :(
Im not sure on the mounting type without having a good look at it as its not here with me now although im sure I can make something up so it will fit.
Its got all the contactor switch board thing so ill see how its setup (electrics is my weak point) so was planning on using that with a seperate...
Sorry - I guess it would help alot lol
Prob better I post this pic of the motor plate rather than try and describe things when I dont know what they are / are called !
I was assuming a standard rotary switch would work ?
