I am looking to build a welding fixture table so that i can teach myself tig. I dont have huge amounts of space so i was looking at having one folding out from the wall with legs that extend out like your nans table she gets out at Christmas, i have some 40mm box kicking around so this seems a...
My inlaws managed to pick one up for me in Minehead Lidl yesterday.
On one of the fabrication pages on facebook a user emailed the guy selling them for £285, apparently he was quite upfront and said he picked up 15 from stores and if they don't sell he will return them for a full refund.
None in my local stores now, not that i expected any. Plenty on ebay now for £225-285. Seems to me that if you work hard and do long hours or like me was in hospital you have no chance.
I want one and they restocked today but n chance in getting one as i had more surgery on my knee yesterday so recovering, last time my local Lidle stocked them i was in hospital for 10 days after breaking my leg at the knee.
Seems its not meant to be :(
I have just bought a tig and it should be here the end of the week.
I have been looking at gas today, my options are, SGS, Hobbyweld and Albee. SGS and Hobbyweld distributers are about 7 miles away and Albee around 16.
I think i will be going with SGS as bank per buck they seem the best value...
It doesn't look a whole lot different to the original welding to my untrained eye. I have a fair bit of aluminium welding to do on my Turbomini including a whole new intercooler as the one for the 5 port i had done will not fit now as its 7 port. I am not brave enough to hire a tig like you but...
As per title really.
I have a BOC automaster 185 currently and after smashing my knee last year i want something smaller and lighter to move around. I dont think i have ever used it on full power and i do not weld regularly so i could go down to a 160a i think. The BOC machine has been superb...
Gregg was first i believe, i think he is French Canadian. jim Lyons was the first to turbocharge a 16v by some quite significant time, he also made his from scratch before SC and the better force kit was introduced.
I also have a k100rs sat on the shelf ready for this conversion for an equinox...
I have been slowly building a new workbench in the garage over the last couple of weeks. When i have used the welder there has been a popping sound from the regulator recently and tonight a loud sqeeling sound and then ...... nothing.
I am assuming the regulators gone pop in some way and...
Agreed, I see alot of dads trying to live their lives through the children,. My boy is really good at karting but loves playing football, so football is where we mostly spend our sundays.
I did another for my youngest who is the same size as my oldest.
Started with a mint marin, shed a fair bit of weight changing the tyres and changing the front steel 2 ring crankset to a single. Not as light as the other bike but the forks are quite heavy and I have not changed them ... yet.
I built a bike for my eldest, kids bikes are really heavy for what they are so decided to have a go at building a lightweight mtb on a budget.
Started with a fairly new but very unloved orbea mx24 that a local military family did not want, it had been left in the garden over winter so was...
I took my lad once or twice a month to pay as you go karting before lockdown, hes really good in a kart and regularly beats adults while only in a junior kart. I bought him his own kit but cant afford to let him race properly.
