I got bottle rental at £1.50 a month from Keygas in Wrexham. A 10 litre bottle of 5% Argon 95% CO2 was £32.20, at 250+ Bar according to my regulator. No deposit required. Rental on 50 litre bottles is £2.50 a month.
So shop around for your gas! Be aware though, that a small mig usually won't...

The bottle pressure maxes out my regulator, which stops at 275 bar I think. So seems very good value for money.
I got Argo 5, ie 5% argon 95% Co2.
When I went to buy one, I noticed that some of the cheaper ones had "overheat" warning lights on them. The more expensive ones didn't, I took the implication that the cheap ones NEED overheat warning lights.
Anyway I bought the Bosch, and it was partly because it came with a decent carry case...
