Thanks, the previous owner is a professional welder fabricator and was giving the machine a real hard time when it gave in the ghost. He is regularly welding for prolonged periods.
I will be buying 100 of the diodes so will have a few spares.
I have been looking at an invertec 160-t and the one I've been given has a fault. The previous owner described it as a pcb fault, he heard a bit of a fizz and the machine stopped working. I have taken it all apart and I have found there is a popped diode on the inverter board (d1). It's easy to...
I have a new toy that I need to fix and it's a Lincoln invertec v160-t. From what I know the welder is a dc tig set but the Lincoln website says it's intended for alloy fabrication. See this link http://www.lincolnelectric.com/en-us/Equipment/Pages/product.aspx?product=K1845-1(LincolnElectric)...
I like the sound of my bike and personally i don't care what anyone else thinks of it, they don't have to like it...it's not theirs. I want the cans louder mainly because i like the noise, but also partly to get people to notice the bike more, its safer that way. The headers on the bike are...
Haha, I have re-packed cans before but only with the proper fibreglass wadding. I'm thinking about wrapping the perforated tube tightly with exhaust heat wrap and leaving the wadding as is. That way it will provide more resistance to the airflow at the perforations and it will make the sound...
Hi all, i have a pair of scorpion stainless steel end cans on my fireblade streetfighter and i need to make it louder but not obnoxiously loud. I do not want to touch the length of the silencers as they are very visable and make up part of the look im after for the rear end of the bike but i am...
Alright folks, I have bought myself an old school bosch 3/4 drive impact gun, the part number on it is "0 601 430 008". It's heavy and it looks like a beast, it's 220v, 750rpm.
Can anyone tell me any more about it? Have you any experience of these guns? Does anyone know what torque these...
Ok, she's working again.....spark gaps were ok but there was a film of oil and a buildup of crap on the contacts. Reset the gaps to 8 thou anyway and sprayed some contact cleaner on them and blew it all off with compressed air. Fired her up and shazam....perfect.
I forgot to add, that this is a problem on both AC and DC. I can scratch start on both and DC seems to weld ok, AC will weld for a few seconds and then stop. I have only tried it on low power settings as i was welding 1mm stainless. I dont know if bumping up the power will help any.
My UCC 305 has developed a little bit of a problem....
I had not used the welder in about a month and since then the HF start has stopped working. I cannot hear the tell tale clicking when i hit the pedal and i have to scratch start it now.
Does anyone know how these HF start things work...
Thanks for the input gents. I really don't want to use a fan due to the noise as its in our main workshop area. I have access to a few spare gas bottles so I'm going to trial one of my ideas soon. It will have an insulated burn chamber and a metered oil flow to control how rich the heater can...
