Been a while but as usual, the plans are changing.
The stroked Holden V8's are being sold to make room (and cash), for a GM Performance 454ZZ Big Block Chev.
Will be close to getting a 9in prepped to go in, then I can work out my sizing for the drop tank and things like fuel system and...
Do it once do it right! I've had this beast for a bit over 6 years now, so time for some lovin'.
Planning for a tough streeter and the occasional trip down the 1/4 mile. Aiming for 350-400hp at the wheels, so gotta use it somewhere haha.
Yea, it's a godsend having somewhere big and dry to...
4 and 5K share the same rod length as only the bore varies. Yes, but they're sold as Semi-finished, so just require reaming for correct pin clearance.
Not really that much heavier, 520grams each. They are rated to 200hp per rod, 10,000rpm and 40psi (boost).
They are about 270 Pounds going by the currency converter.
We never had them imported here unfortunately. I think there may be a couple here now that have been imported from New Zealand, they got **** loads of em!
Bit of a **** pic, but here's one of the rods. ARP2000 bolts as standard.
Looking good mate!
Friends had one of these, soft top always slightly leaked. Turned out there was a cavity between the seats and boot that was filling up with water haha.
Nothing wrong with the 5K :) What rods are you running as I can get forged H-beam to suit 4/5K. Ah, another to go to the A series.
When it's all been rebuilt and tuned I will take it down the 1/4.
For the past decade or so we've had to drive for 8 or so hours to have access to a full...
Runs rather well haha. The thing is virtually impossible to drive in the wet haha. Will spin up virtually all thru 1st, 2nd and 3rd with roll on throttle in the wet, not game enough to get it into 4th and 5th.
Here is a video my mate took. Massive exhaust leak at the time and this was when...
Yep, they all share that 70's Japanese small car look.
The amount of times I've had "Nice Datsun" yelled out when driving Corolla's (I've had quite a few) is amazing.
Should go like a bat out of hell! Those exhaust ports look delicious haha.
7K out of a KR42 Townace.
Crow double valve springs
Crow custom pushrods and cam
Chev solid lifters
Heavily ported head
Balanced bottom end
Was running stock pistons
Garret TO4B sucking thru a 42DCOE with...
Cheers mate!
Yea, that's half my trouble. Find a clear space and all of a sudden I've gone and bought something to fill it up. Eventually once I've finished this and my other project, It will be mainly machine shop. Slowly gathering equipment.
The saying "A man can never have a big enough...
So from all that, the final driveline plans are;
Holden 304, stroked to 355. TorquePower Hi Rise manifold. Quickfuel 850 carb. 1 3/4" pri -3" collector 4-1's. 3500 stall. Manualised, reverse pattern TH400 and 3.5:1 31 spline, TruTrac 9"
Everything has been done inside my workshop apart...
Up to the etch primer stage. From here it will go to the blasters to have some of the tighter and tougher areas stripped. Then back into the workshop for more etch primer and final rust repairs.
And what I reckon is one of a few straight, rust free, original floors.
After...
Been a while between drinks, figured I'd post up my latest project.
Bear with me as I'm copy and pasting from another forum with a few edits.
From when I first started driving it.
Interior was done by previous owner.
Threw in a set of lowered GTS springs into it.
All stayed...
