Well i welded the curcuit together but the old man inlaw told me what to do so no doubt i have just stuffed up the drawing:doh:, especailly since they seem to be flow directional. Might have to change the drawing!
ok, you might have to describe it a bit better.
By my drawing the source is the power(+) from the board that would normally go straight to the motor, it charges the cap and turns the transistor "on". when the trigger is let go the transistor turns off leaving the cap with the charge ready...
probably a bit late, the mosfet is just a switch, bit like a relay and the diode is there to stop the charged capacitor keeping the mosfet "on" when you let go of the trigger.
heya spiyda, i dunno why mine works and yours didnt but i will try your mod anyway to see if there is a difference. Is it just the run on that was the problem? or was there other problems?
I tried to use mine a little while ago(i now have a new welder) and it didnt seem to be running right, i...
what size is it? I use my 150 turbo for my resto as well as using it in my business(trailers) and have no troubles with it at all, well now that i have done all the mods to it that is.
I'm in Brisbane and got the torch from "State of the arc" they are at Capallaba. I did ring the Binzel supplier in Aus. and he gave me contacts for a supplier in Brisbane but i went with the one i have(Parweld) as it was a bit cheaper.
Hey nathan there is nothing tricky to it and its definitely safer than doing the transformer mod as you are only dealing with lowish DC. Once you have the parts its pretty easy to work out as the capacitor is marked +&- and the transistor(mosfet) comes with a sheet to tell you which leg does what.
Yeah i remember reading that and looked into to it and most have over 10000hr life expectency, so that should see me well for the next decade! Lol hopefully i will have upgraded to a lincoln by then. It'll be interesting to see how long this will all last as its also got the transistor there as...
After much stuffing about i think i have got the wiring diagram. Now i know nothing about electronics so this is just a guess at what i thought might work

Well i think i have finally done it, i've managed to get my SIP turbo150 mig welder to weld nearly as good as some of the more expensive welders, its taken a lot of time which could of been better used and i little bit of cash, but since i already had the welder and dont have a huge amount of...
Cheers guys. heres a pic of the falcon after i had the first restoration done, unfortunately the paint and panel company screwed me over and in a bit over a year rust started coming back, so i decided to do a full resto again this time doing it myself. Anyway when i bought it
after the...
