Here is the picture of the subframe, 2 things
A small piece has broken off and needs welding back on, I have the piece.
There is some wear to the frame, the circular groove should not be there there, need filling with weld, approx 2 - 3mm in depth
Hi all, I have an alloy subframe on my Alfa project that needs a small amount of welding, a small piece has broken off and there is a small bit of wear, where a bush has worn the frame that needs filling. Anyone recommend anyone in the crawley area who could do this?
Sounds great, I bought one of their tool cabinets last time I got a VAT free voucher, hopefully get another one in a few months time as already thinking about a few other things to buy.
This seems too light and bright in colour. Frankly somewhat annoyed as took another look tonight and 3/4 of paint used and coverage is still fairly poor. I'm thinking poor quality paint or something as have not had this problem in the past.
Things have improved a bit after about 4 more coats, just keep adding coats but absolute bummer, definitely should have gone for the buff primer all the way.
Hi all, I'm spraying some bike fairings yellow and have very poor paint coverage. I used a buff primer in some areas and grey in other where I did a few extra repairs. The paint is having real difficulties covering the primer, especially the darker grey primer. About 4 coats and it's still...
Hi guys I have a couple of compressors that I want to fixed to some permanent copper pipework, one is a Clarke - one of these http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/pe16c50-ol-portable-air-compressor?da=1&TC=RV-000113200 and the other is an Aldi, one of these...
I did c&g evening class for mig and worthwhile although it was a bit long it helped no end and got a certain thinking about doing tig. The price you mention seems very expensive though.
Is there enough work in automotive welding, I know it's more than cars but they don't rot like they once did. My brother-in-law is in the trade and he said they hardly do any welding anymore.
I think it sounds a good idea but you probably need to ensure some sort of lease is signed. I recently sublet some desk space and we have had to get a lease agreed for legal reasons. Gives you some sort of protection. Likewise I don't see an issue with ramps if you have the revelant...
I thought zinc primers needed to be in direct contact with metal to be effective, possibly an epoxy primer instead of the etch/bonda. Ensure that as much / all old rust is removed as possible.
Hi all,
I'm in the process of rebuilding a bike, Suzuki SV650. I have it in pieces and now trying to decide whether to paint or poweder coat. There are quite a few items I would like to do and with powdercoating will require me to remove all bearings, a short list
Wheels
Frame
Swingarm...
Anyone know a scrapyard near Horley, Surrey? Have a large old copper cylinder, some pipes and some brass I want to take in and get rid off for a few quid.
Cheers in advance.
I painted and repaired a bumper a while back. Used a upol plastic filler for a couple of gouges although I reckon a normal filler would have been fine, upol high build primer, then painted over with 2k. It was a solid colour so didn't bother with lacquer. Still on there no problems months later.
Do you need to bare metal the car. Generally if the existing paint is solid then it's better left on than off. If the car has never been resprayed I would just recommend takibg areas of surface rust back to bare metal and treating but not the whole car. Flat the car back with a DA sander.
