Couldn't resist a look at the Supermig 150.V2. So blue wire comes from the earth clamp goes to the reactance, out and into the protection, rectifier, the red comes from the torch it connected to the rectifier kit just to the right of the blue wire, they are on separate plates can I swop these tow...
Seen a couple of videos one on here and one on You Tube where they swop the terminals like you have mentioned so I will give that a go soon. I think I have two light gauge wires up to the torch. So a roll of flux core and 0.8 tips to see how it goes. Watch this space.
eddie49, you have been very helpful, thanks again and also everyone who have added to this. It would be my luck for my machine to only able to run gasless. I also have an old Cemont Maxima 150 I will get a look at it and see if it will run gassless. Mark.
My Sealey machine doesn't have the terminals to swop over polarity. I have read you can run gassless wire in a gas machine just do not turn on the gas. Would this be correct?
Thanks for your help, I really appreciate you taking the time. I don,t see 8 or 9 in my machine. I have the origanal manual, could it be for just running just gas wire? Left pic the earth lead is nearest at the top, middle pic wire roller it has 2 light gauge wires going to it and right is the...
Have you seen the pic I posted is the earth going to the correct place. I have the cover off but I can not see how to change the wire and there are no markings?
I have a sealey 150 maybe 20 years it's not hard worked and the only thing i have had to replace was the PCB and the small consumables. Now I'm too old and fat! but giving it a go. Reading your post flux core wire might do my job? I have read you can use fc without the shroud. I am not sure how...
I am far from an expert and based my 150 purchase on a bit of investigating and purchase limit. If you go for a mig it might be better to get one that can do gas and no gas welding. Also consider the gauge of metal you will be welding mm wise and how often you will use it? I changed to arg/co2...
Hi
Hi, trying to weld in new metal patch to old metal. I thought stick would let me get in to tight spaces and I have toyed with getting stick machine. At that price it isn't to much of a gamble. Will stick drip like mig on overhead work. Also thought about flux core mig wire and no shroud.
Got a mig to do my 110 chassis a few years back. 150 Mighty Mig on co2 paying for welding was to expensive. Needs must I could not agree more. 150 Mmig pcb went faulty so I picked up a second hand Cemont 150 and changed from co2 to Argon/co2 mix what a diiference it worked well as back up until...
Hello to all, are these machines worth having? I am having bother getting into tight spaces and welding the bottom of the chassis with my mig to patch up my landrover 110. Is stick any better to weld overhead so to speak. Any advice would be appreciated. Regards Mark.
