I would say 99% of those you see are forged wrought iron. I thought that's what we were talking about...indeed every one I have had pass through has been forged wrought iron.
I have seen cast leg vices but they are more modern/brand new versions.
They are all forged, no casting
Yes, separate pieces forged and then forge welded to each other, but 100% fully forged.
Remember they were probably forged with a steam hammer and all sorts of dies which made the process a lot simpler
@Anthony Spencer don't worry about the repair, if it...
I have a 50mm box frame structure with a sheet of 25mm ply on top. Topped with 6mm hot rolled sheet bolted through the top and the frame.
It's straight, enough for making gates etc. and I can weld on it without burning the ply.
Can't imagine it's too expensive to get all the materials. Mine...
I free hand sharpen
When I can't grind a nice split point, I centre punch and pilot hole a small hole first. Nothing I am doing needs any more precision than that, although I appreciate a lot do.
I keep saying this, drills should all be sold as stub drills and full length should be an exception. 99% of people using drills don't and won't sharpen them. If I didn't sharpen my drills I'd end up buying a new set three times a week.
Shouldn't be like that. Square and round bar often needs straightening but sheets should be flat and hollow section straight.
I refused a length of box last week because of a kink where the strap was tightened. Might have been able to work round it fine but luck would probably have been it was...
The answer to this question is the deluxe sourdough pizza from Lidl
Don't know if it's been mentioned but I've not had much better outside a restaurant.
Don't overlook it though, leave the crust a bit doughy.
And all the flavours are good except the weird veggie one
We never have a problem with any courier despite living right out on the sticks. In fact our Amazon delivery driver this week delivered a couple of parcels and asked if he could take some scrap metal at the same time. He was very polite about it lol so I gave him some to get it out of my way...
This is interesting, I use an abrasive disc in a 355mm cut off saw. Mainly cutting solid bar anywhere from 10mm square to 50mm square/round.
Can they handle solid bar?
This is the only thing that has stopped us, we have plenty of room fortunately but if we want a week away the dog can go in kennels, what do we do with the chickens? Our neighbours are great and would definitely keep an eye on them but we don't want to put that on anyone.
Yes, which if those are luxury items?
A swag portaband table is a non essential, therefore if you want it, buy it, if you don't like the price, find an alternative.
Find me an alternative for my water supplier etc?
Anyway, I have better things to do than argue with a grown man on the internet.
I never said there wasn't. I just don't disagree with making a profit. Is there another choice? I made my own bandsaw table, probably for half the cost and ten times as strong. But if you want something quick and easy that will work and are happy to pay, what's the problem?
Even so, why should a company not make a profit? If people are buying them then no complaints from me. If you can find a cheaper alternative you are happy with then choose that. I don't have one by the way, this goes for anything!
You don't get a lot for <£100 nowadays. Why shouldn't they make a profit? They have the materials, machinery, someone's wages to make it, someone to pack it up, postage etc etc.
