I use this chemical black solution, works great.

I bought ~100ml bottle which was about a tenner, cant see it on their site though.
I apply with a paintbrush and gives a really nice effect.
:edit: Just checked, its the 1L bottle...
I would recommend spending a couple of quid more and going for the ones that use the stolen makita castings and moldings.
They are significantly better quality in almost every way. I took a few apart in another thread and the internal components are almost identical to the genuine makita.

Helicoils generally have a better load rating than the standard threads they are replacing as they spread the stress a bit more. A helicoil'd M14 is effectively turning your bolt into an M16 anyway but you don't have to deal with different washers and pulley inner diameters.
I've been in a...
Skimmed and didn't see, but any reason you aren't putting a helicoil in there? Drill size is something like 14.3mm so don't need to remove much material and can use the original bolt/washer.
Cheap sets are <15 quid...
My Mk4 lost power steering and it was the tiny non-replaceable filter in the bottom of the res getting blocked and starving the pump.
A new res and a good flush of the fluid and its been fine for the last 1.5 years.
I can sell you 150 likes for only £9.99 Great British Pound Coins.
On a serious note, it looks awesome mate, really like the addition of the wood and the 'patina' you got on the metal.
I bought a Launch X431 CRP129, its a DIY level scanner but does pretty much everything I need.
I mainly got it because I was told it would work on the Older L200's which are pre-OBD and it does so winner winner.
They seem a bit spendy but they pay themselves off so quickly when things go wrong.
It's not amazing to machine.
We find the temper makes quite a big difference. H22 was much nicer to machine than H11/H111
As brad says it's not very common you find it in plain plate, nearly always treadplate which is normally H111 just from the work hardening during manufacture.
I have this, pretty similar to the Sealy.
Has a plastic body like the Sealy which I was a little worried about but I've gone through a bag of 400 M8's and seems fine so far.

I think it depends which Hub its coming from. If you have an exact part number and quantity I can check.
I usually don't even look as we don't pay postage with them but I don't think it will be cheap for a home gamer. (depending on quantities)
Plenty of options available on Misumi.
We use Nissan Screw for fasteners when designing non standard stuff, they are usually a good price: https://uk.misumi-ec.com/vona2/detail/221000862955/
You could also go with the integrated washer type which are usually a bit cheaper...
Sort of unrelated, but, how do you find those MyComsumables discs?
I've seen the guy advertising on the Welding Facebook pages and have almost bought them a few times.
