J, the Parweld XTS162 I decided on was discontinued.
It had basic voltage selection, and the replacement didn't.
This was a big problem as I'd borrowed another inverter and it didn't like 7018's ether.
I've herd there was a problem with the Parwelds buttons failing so maybe why it was replaced...
Will be on the big heat sink somewhere.
1 year warranty business use, 2 year home use looks like.
Wonder if you can pay Jasic UK to repair it
Anyway useful thread.
I have a 200A Pulse ARC / Lift TIG with 10kg of ESAB rods on the way for less that a XTS163
Wou
Thanks for the Pics, Did you get any close ups of the devices?
EDIT: Didn't realise the Jasic was £1300! Thats a bit beyond what a few components will save.
I guess they could know over the 6 years you'll probably be wanting a new machine off them.
Corners cut on components no doubt, but its screwed and glued together well. Impressive
According to the circuit drawing its using Mosfets (MDP15N075) in the Primary inverter and IGBTs in the secondary the SFR25U20's are the rectifier diodes.
I've just been looking at the Sherman arc welders...
Turned it on one morning and saw smoke coming out the case so switched in off before it went pop.
New Arc was no help they said it was more than a few years old so best buy a new one.
So I took it to APS at Harrogate, they said the logic board was not doing anything.
I should put it on ebay in...
Hi All, Thought I had an account here from years back but apparently not.
I'm trying to keep it simple, could do with a nice machine to run 2.5 and 3.2 electrodes. Have one of those nasty buzz boxes with a fan that overheats soon as you manage to get a few inches of 2.5 down.
Also got a bust...
