I've adopted this approach also, with carbide inserts - as fast as you dare (+ maybe a little bit more).
Three things;
The protuberance of the parting blade is set to the minimum neccesary.
Make sure the parting tool is spot on perpendicular to the workpiece.
Once in cutting position, carriage...

Yes, there is a good example.
Another that springs to mind is Greta Thunberg (sp?), the spoilt little brat we all love to hate.
But, having said that, her exposure has, in all honesty, contributed to awakening more serious
consideration for me on how we live these days, and what legacy we may be...

Raising awareness of an issue, I think, is mostly a good thing. Often things are going on
in life which we either underestimate the impact it may be having on other people, or we
are simply unaware of the existence or gravity of said issue.

Sorry, mate, but that completely misses the analogy I was trying to express,
by a country mile.
In the context of my post, I was trying to suggest that the separation of the
sexes (all of them), actually serves to exacerbate and compound the very
issue it tries to address.
