I have a SIP abrasive chip saw, £130 and tbf it was kind of an impulse buy, I paid for it for it so I'll use it when I can
Seems to take an age to cut but maybe I'm not as heavy handed as I need to be, also bloody noisey and I swear it sparks more than an angle grinder
Noise doesn't bother me...
Do you still have ur grinder guards on? I took mine off both at some point (a while back) but I've never put them back on, used the grinders plenty times since and thought I really should put them back on by never have.
do you pull the trigger for a sec to let the gas come out and do its job before you do a weld or just 1 firm squeeze and gas and wire at the same time?
does it make any difference?
i only have sundays off so it not like i could have done it this weekend anyway
time to steal idea's for me welding cart :ashamed::whistle::D
well, ordered this small amount last night:
R/H Section 25 x 25 x 2mm x 7.5 - 7.6m Grade S235
Rolled Steel Angle 30x30x3mm x 6.0-6.1m Equal Angle Grade S275
Mild Steel CR4 2000mm x 1000mm x 1.5mm
Mild Steel Flat Bar 40 x 3mm x 6.0-6.1m Grade S275
got and email this morning...
Mmm, might have a look at FH then, the £13 was from eBay so I'd have thought I could have got it for a decent price from there
Of to look at FH Brundle
Is metal bloody expensive?
I was looking at 25mm (3mm thick) square box section and it's about £13 a meter!
I was planning on building a welding cart but I'll probably just drag it as it is cursing and swearing everytime I needed to use the thing.
So is it just me, or is metal expensive?
It does go really dark, I literally can't see anything apart from the weld and that a hell'uva bright, to the point when I left the lid I can still see it where ever I look (is that makes sense)
welding? I cant see poo!
i can see almost fine before i start but as soon as i arc the helmet goes too dark and all i can see is the yellow (very brightly) from my weld, cant see what im welding so i have to get the torch in position before i start and its pretty much just spot welds as i cant...
So I've decided to bit the bullet and go "gas" from my usual "gas less".
Looking to get a hobyweld 5 for my sealey might mig 150
I know I need a reg and also an adaptor (is that all I need?), can anyone point out what I would need, there seem to be an abundance out there and I'll be spending...
