Hi Carl,
I saw you have different lubrication nipples installed. Yours are looking like grease nipple. Are they good for Oil as well?
I have attached my kind of greas nipple.
Hi Carl, hi guys
I got it fixed this weekend. I did connect the machine on power. I did use a very strong lamp to check the oil level in the sight glasses.
Even the offset gear box I found the oil level. So, I drained everything up and filled the gearboxes with new hydraulic oil (HLP68).
I...
Thanks Mark, yes on my model the glasses are fitted into the head body directly. But do you hvae the link to that ebay offer?
Unfortunatly I don't know if the right amount is filled. So I cannot even drain it and measure the oil.
Thanks Guys,
I don't want to replace the sight glasses. This is a hell of work. Don't even know from where I can get new once.
Thanks, Carl, it would be good if you can find something on the oil issue. I did some light test mills which went well, I don't wnat to stress the samll lady before I...
...sorry I did upload the pictures twice...
One question I have. I would like to change the oil. On the main gear it is not a problem, I can see the level in the inspection glass. But I can't see the level on the vertical head because of the dirty glasses. Does anybody know the amount...
Hi all,
the time is running, and it took a little while to move forward on my milling overhaul. But now I am nearly finished with.
I did clean up all guides and adjust it. I replaced missing bolts and the electrical equipment partly. And finally, I did paint it in a fresh new RAL6011.
This...
Thanks Carl for your help. It sounds tricy.
I did not start to dismantle it. I don't have time yet.
But my be will will leave the knee on and just clean the z-gear.
I keep you posted.
Cheers
Alex
Hi Carl,
I hope you are well. Yesterday I had a close look on my miller again. I did lubricate the machine and now the z-spindle and the linked knee is running more smoothly.
But I am still thinking to dismantle the x-table, Y-table and the knee for a proper maintenance and cleaning. I had a...
Hi Carl,
Yes I can do both varation of milling. ...just need the tools for that.
But it is just a metter of time.
I will have a look for the right handles.
Carl I have another question. Just in case any sealing or besrings are gone, are they in metric or inch to?
Cheers
Alex
Hi Carl,
mine is not Harrison Blue/Grey.
Mine is paunted in RAL 6011 Reseda Green.
All German machining tools were painted in that RAL color chart. ....very common.
Now the question is, did Harrison change the color for Export?
Hi Carl and all Guys which are helping me a lot at the moment.:clapping:
I be honest, I was really struggling to buy this lovely machnine. This type of machine is not really popular in Germany and it is really very hard to find an owner of a Harrison.
But luckily I bought it and this was thr...
Cool, this list is briliant!
thanks, unfortunately this machine is still equipped with Inch stuff.
I will try some stuff from my "US-Guy" and have a look if it fits.
Cheers
Alex
Thanks Rob for your answer, this is quite complicated.
So in other words I don't have any other choice as pull out some bolts and measure it.
Can I still get these kind of UK bolts or is it an old system which is no longer in use?
Cheers
Alex
Thank you very much for your help.:clapping:
I am looking forward contacting you if I have any problems with my nice Milling Machine.
I took it on board last week. This is my first REAL Milling Machine. My very first one is a EMCO FB2. Very nice but a bit too small for my projects.
Now I...
Hi all,
I am Alex from Germany, be 53 years old. Since three weeks I am a proud owner of a Harrison Vertical and Horizontal Milling Machine (Type 600).
This Machine is made for Germany equipped with a metric System, painted in RAL6011 (I don't know if it is right).
It is in a nice condition...
