I always tend to use an adjustable square to run down (if it's straight edges I'm cutting) I have three I use just for plasma cutting . The arc gap is always consistent purely because I'm resting on the steel I'm cutting .
So finally took a couple of pics , since buying it I've put it to good use and very impressed with the machine, it does exactly what it says on the tin and can't fault it .not replaced the crap earth clamp yet but will do .
Well it arrived and got it set up ,so initial thoughts ..The earth clamp is crap but ill soon change that , the airline fittings are also crap so I've changed them, other than that I like the feel of it .yes it's slightly noisy as the fan runs constantly but it's no different to the welder. First...
Another for local charity shops , money goes to a great cause plus you can cut rags to the size you like ,have bought bales of rags before but alot of them I found were cut to small .
Still undecided a the moment I'm not in a massive rush for one as I'm out on site all the time , the decision will probably be made by tossing a coin ..
A leatherman multitool years ago ,it was so poor and pointless I threw it away In disgust and it's crap leather holder.. Im sure they were trying to reinvent the Swiss army knife ,which is almost like trying to reinvent the wheel
Previous plasma was an sip 45 and couldn't fault it other than having a crap torch on it, it died after 9 years. It was all I could afford at the time but it paid for itself time after time .
Currently have 2 Makita 4.5" and 2 Makita corded 9" , 1 18v Milwaukee(5") and just treat myself to an 18v 9" Milwaukee , both have pros and cons , used to have a 18v Makita but it was crap .
I'd recommend Transpeed monocoat , it can be mixed to any bs/real number .it's hard wearing with a decent finish and no need to mess about with primer or undercoat. I've used it on several trailers/chassis and hundred of other items
