i really enjoy welding, but i'm gonna have to put in some time and some guidance from a mate to up my game.
The GYS works fine, it's just me having a litle trouble finding the right settings and not eaxctly knowing what to look and listen for.
But hey, all in good time i quess :D
first i prepped my workpieces off course.....i later found out that the flat strip is 5 mm instead of the 2 i thought it was....stupid...i wasn't thinking clear i suppose. I found out after trying to figure out why my welds didn't have penetration on those.
I ground the millscale and a little...
@Gareth0123 thanks for chiming in, glad you walked away with just that.
i heared some guys stopped using those solid grinding discs and moved to flapwheels, because of breaking the aforementioned discs.
Finally got round for some practice....
first i made a makeshift welding table.......i later hooked the ground on my workpiece so to be sure i wasn't having grounding issues to rule out if i was having trouble welding

nice project, that trailer has some nice dimensions......not to big.
quick question though....what's the reason you decided on that sloped sidewalls? whats the advantage in that?

i never seen a pedal switch.......arent they a hassle to keep moving around?
i like the grinders with the switch on the tail end, not sure how to describe it the best.

i posted a funny H&S vid about a german Forklift operater a while ago.....
but take a look at this.
Nothing too graphic/gruesome.....but a fine example how quickly things can go wrong. I was looking at a guy making a welding cart.......
@11:05 he freezes the frame and he'll inserts the...

Especially with 3d printers, which is a huuuge market, there are so many helpfull vids to find.
Some of them are short user...
not sure what car you have available (tow capacity) but if i were you i'd be looking at a (smallish) trailer.
i bought one and i wished i got one years ago. You might not even want to part with it later on, but if you do, it'will probably keep its value pretty good.
I haul all sorts of goods...
