So I'm a little lost, iv got a 12v PSU powering the relay and also the solenoid, but the trigger return from the welder doesn't seem to be enough to trigger the relay, the trigger relay LED is hardly visible.
Connections
PSU + to positive of relay and relay com
PSU - to negative of relay and to...
I was thinking more along the lines of trying to stop a clattering if that makes sense, to stop the relay from losing voltage for some unknown reason, only using a low uf across the switched side of the relay
Hope that makes sense
So would I be ok to run a 12v opto isolated relay off the return from the welder trigger then have the solenoid run off its own 12v power supply? Iv got more than enough room to do this and have the 12v come on with the mains switch.
I was also thinking of adding a cap across the relay to stop...
Iv checked the wire feed motor and it ranges from 3v to 12v iv tried to locate the supply for the motor before it's voltage is changed through the pot but I'm not having much luck
People may have read my previous post about modifications iv carried out on my welder, it's a lumber Jack mig master.
Mods I've carried out so far, fit a euro torch, fit a rectifyer (AC-DC), fit a coustom coil and made it so I can change the polarity for welding.
My problem is now the...
Fantastic read love the idea of a holder for the gas bottle on the back, one thing I found a made a massive difference for me was adding a AC to DC rectifyer (150amp) which can be brought off eBay, and then I added a coil I would definitely recommend these mods
Sorry I missed your post, iv not been on for a while but I'm back, don't know if that's a good thing or not guess that's yet to be seen, glad you got everything working, if you're interested in any of the mods iv made please just ask
To tell you the truth it is doing me quite well, I fit the euro kit, added the rectifyer on a massive heat sink and added a coil and it's actually made a massive difference, iv just ordered a 12v gas solenoid, going to run it off a neutral and the return off the welding trigger, I also replaced...
So I'm in the middle of modding a auto jack mig 130 (flux core welder), I plan on posting a thread when it's complete.
So I'll a little lost on the build for the inductor, iv done a lot of research into the matter and confused on how to go ahead with the build.
On cable size, from what iv read...
Just one more question could someone please give me some links on inductor design and how to work out the requirements for my welder, I'm reading a lot of conflicting comments so any help would be grate thanks
So it's a Triac setup as there are no relays on the board and the transformer is 12v ill look for the amp later as I'm thinking of feeding the gas solenoid from this.
I think your right about the inductor tho iv just got to look into this more as I'm not overly shore on inductor build, I can...
I got some documents but nothing of any use really iv tried searching the PCB number but nothing comes up but the board is dated as 2019 so quite new.
Bridge rectifier has a max amp of 150 amps and I am mounting the rectifier on a quite substantial heat sink.
As for the voltage control I've...
So I can understand that it's not the best of welders, to be honest not even close, not much of a bubble to burst so don't worry.
The welder I won bidding £34.75
Bridge rectifier was £7.00 p&p £1
Euro torch was £16.99
Euro torch socket kit was £10.70
And the rest of the stuff iv got in my...
So this is a little bit of two post's into one,
I'm new to the forum so a big hello to every one, quite new to welding done some in the past but is been a few years.
I'm a sparky by trade, was in the game for over 10 years but been in the building trade all my life, but after the loss of my...
