Well this thread got some traction :laughing:
Looks like my initial problems were due to bed adhesion, for some reason my last printer bed was really good and didn't need and glue or other help to get the prints to stick, even prints without a brim or a raft stuck without issues, so i...
I did follow the instructions to the letter, i'm trying to reprint now with the temps set at 60/200 and redid the Z offset as suggested ( was a couple of hundredths off so i don't think that was the issue). If that fails, i'll reset to factory settings and start from scratch again.
6 prints, 3 fails , expected more from a 700€ printer. Playing around with different temperatures but will probably send it back, upgrade to a prusa and learn to live with the smaller build volume.
If it does finish a print it is flawless though.
First fail
2nd fail, the bottom layer...
Looking for advice, I'm having trouble to program the highlighted 3d chamfer on the part below on a 3 axis cnc. Any advice on programming strategy? For scale, the part is about 15mm long and 10mm high.
Went with a CR10 printer, if this turns out to be a high maintenance unit I'll try to re sell it and buy a large Prusa when they come available. The CR10 does come with direct drive and a bl touch type leveling probe so I have high hopes :-).
Hi,
I'm looking for a good workshop printer, not looking for the smoothest finest detailed prints. Just a trustworthy printer with a large buildvolume which doesn't break down every 5 prints and works without having to put in a lot of time. I have an anycubic chiron which was an ok printer for...
Took me 2 ruined endmills to figure out that Fusion doesn't have recommended speeds but just generic ones. :-), thanks for all the info, will dive into it!
It's just this one boring bar that sits so high on the toolpost, I bought this boring bar second hand and there was already some material removed from the top so I continued on with it without really thinking about it.
I tested the boring bar today and even with it sitting so high on the holder...
Seems like feeds and speeds will be the most important thing I need to learn to properly use this mill, any suggestion on how to learn, good sites/youtube channels/ books?
Thanks.
Ended up ordering a 52mm/4insert shell mill from Hoffman. First try was on a lathe boring bar which needed 2mm to come off to make it fit in my quick change tool post.
Well pleased with the finish, only took of 0,25mm per pass, feed per tooth of 0,2mm and a spindle speed of 1850 rpm as it's the...
It's 80mm from the center of the tool to tool holder axis, so in theory it could hold a 160mm mill :-).
Why do i think i need one, actually I don't, I'm a total novice and get all my information from youtube, all the cool kids on youtube use them :-).
Also i like insert tooling, if I mess up I...
Recently bought a small second hand rong fu cnc mill, for which I need to buy some tooling.
One of the things I'm looking for is a shell/face mill, the mill has a 1,5hp/BT30 spindle, what size shell mill would work for this in steel/stainless? Been using the google but not finding the answers...
Thanks for the info!
I found the original PDF which has both the chart for internal as for external threading.

Document also answered my question about ho...
Novice question, when using a full profile thread cutting insert, do you leave the stock slightly oversize and then cut the crest to the correct size using the full profile insert?
If so what is the ratio, how much do you leave the stock oversize and how do you know when you reached the correct...
Few more tips from someone who was in your position 2 years back, but i stuck with it and now Fusion is a pleasure to work with:
- Make sure the timeline is active, if it's not active it limits the option for most functions. (for example the mirror function, if timeline is active you have the...
I made plans for this, table is 140cm by 90cm, connecting beams are 140 by 20cm. Had it cut out of 5mm plate, fitted perfectly and is a lot stronger than i would've expected for 5mm plate.
If you want the dxf's, pm me your mail.
